Every year on June 8, World Oceans Day is celebrated. The main objective of celebrating this day is to remember the role of the oceans in our daily lives and the impact that humans have on this ecosystem. Celebrating this day allows us to develop a global citizen movement to develop projects for the ocean that guarantee its survival through the years. On this day, declared by the UN, we remember the ocean as the source of life that daily supports humanity and planet earth.
Who is Dolphin Discovery?
The Dolphin Discovery Group is conceived as a company that shows a great sense of responsibility, respect, and high ecological awareness. It was founded in 1994 to create unique programs with dolphins that allow them to interact with humans positively. In fact, among its well-known tourist activities, we find swim with dolphins, a very original attraction that enables you to appreciate these marine mammals very closely. While you enjoy the company of these intelligent animals, the specialists will explain a little about their anatomy to give you maximum experience.
Today, Dolphin Discovery has more than 21 habitats for dolphins in different parts of the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Sea, and the Tyrrhenian Sea. They have offices in places like Cancun, Cozumel, Los Cabos, Vallarta, Punta Cana, Ocho Rios, Florida and more. Spaces have been created in these habitats for interactive programs with dolphins, sea lions, and manatees. Each of these programs has been an essential part of the lives of more than 10 million tourists who annually visit our spaces to live an intimate experience with these marine animals.
World Oceans Day at Dolphin Discovery
Dolphin Discovery celebrates World Oceans Day, reminding us of the spirit of help with which they have contributed to the well-being of the oceans and their marine fauna through the various maintained programs. Dolphin Discovery has contributed since its foundation to the goals set on this critical World Oceans Day.
These programs have managed to rescue and rehabilitate more than 250 marine animals. Educational tours have been promoted so that more and more children learn about the marine habitat, social volunteer programs have been created, and the environment has been cleaned up., whether cleaning beaches and mangroves or collecting garbage.
The Dolphin Discovery Commitment
Grupo Dolphin Discovery is committed to the environment since, through the conservation of marine and terrestrial species, it has managed to classify itself as one of the best habitats in the world. Since 2006 it has been recognized as a Socially Responsible Company. In addition, it is a member of two significant international associations:
- The International Association of Marine Animal Trainers (IMATA)
- The Alliance of Marine Parks and Aquariums (AMMPA)
Also, it should be noted that the Dolphin Discovery Vallarta has achieved its “H” distinction, which has been a recognition of the habitat restaurant by the Ministry of Tourism, which is obtained by complying with the best quality and hygiene standards of its food.
On this important World Oceans Day, we want to highlight our continued commitment as a Socially Responsible Company since this distinction implies the commitment to satisfy our stakeholders at a social and business level to meet our quality standards, positively impacting the communities in which we operate. We hope to be one step closer every day to fulfilling our vision and mission by which we have been governed during these years.
Happy World Oceans Day!
