Dolphin Discovery is thrilled to be making the move to the big screen as part of the new film “Angel del Mar” (“Angel of the Sea”). The story is about a young boy from Mexico City who loses his family in an automobile accident and moves to the Riviera Maya with his aunt. He meets a young dolphin named “Angel” who was separated from his mother and together they work to change their world and to heal together. This moving story is being brought to life by the producers of “Marcelino Pan y Vino”, Agustín Pérez Santiago and Mikel García Bilbao of Petra Santa Films.

The film will shoot for 23 days in Chankanaab Park and Dolphin Discovery Cozumel, with our animal actors playing starring roles. The producers chose Dolphin Discovery for our expertise in animal training, our healthy marine mammals and our beautiful facilities in the crystal clear waters of the Mexican Caribbean. Our dolphins, sea lions and trainers are currently in rehearsal, learning new behaviors to meet the demands of the script.
