During the annual meeting of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi for its acronym in Spanish) 2018, Fundación Dolphin Discovery I.A.P received the accreditation for Institutionality and Transparency (IFI) which is an important source of reference about the organizations of the Mexican civil associations that also provides additional information for donors and users.

The IFI allows:

  • Identifying reliable organizations.

  • To be accountable to society and the resources received from it.

  • Promote transparency in the philanthropic sector towards society.

  • Increase the trust of society in the organizations.

  • Determine institutional areas of opportunity.

  • Increase the visibility of the organization.

It is important because:

  • Reflects the institutional development of the organization.

  • Allows donors and potential partners a starting point in the analysis of the institutional management and the sustainability of working together.

  • Shows the commitment of the organization with the people who work for it, the social cause in which they work for as well as its donors, allies, volunteers, and other people related.

  • Helps to increase trust, acknowledgment, and the visibility of the job. Also to value the contribution of the organizations of the civil society.

  • Provides a starting platform for organizations for the development of improved processes that increase efficiency in management and to achieve successfully the goals and mission.

The accreditation in Institutionality and Transparency operates as an Institutional process of voluntary self-evaluation, verified and recognized by Cemefi through evidential documents. The accredited organizations with an optimal level hold the IFI in their institutional image, participate in the portfolio of social inversion projects of Cemefi and take part of a reference platform for the affiliation with foundations, donor entities, and socially responsible companies.
