On February in the beautiful coast of the Riviera Maya, took place the annual meeting of the Alliance Marine Mammal Parks and Attractions (AMMPA), making it the first time it is held outside the United States.
With more than 60 experts from all around the world and a program of activities such as “Updates on laws and international politics” or “Status of efforts to save the manatee” receive new members from 2015 certification and renewal. Such was the case of Grupo Dolphin Discovery:
“Dolphin Discovery Group is the company that has certified more dolphinariums, we are grateful to be part of the hostes, so we included in the program of activities a guided tour of the facilities of our dolphinarium in Puerto Aventuras, headquarters of the veterinary team group as well as the breeding program of dolphins, manatees and sea lions, “said Roberto Sanchez Okrucky, Director of Dolphin Discovery Veterinary Medicine Group.
Quintana Roo is a tourist destination, with the highest number of dolphin and marine mammal parks in the country, and now that the annual meeting is happening on our shores means a major breakthrough in the field of psychological and physical health of marine mammals under human care.
AMMPA was founded in 1987 and represents marine life parks such as aquariums, zoos or animal research centers in order to establish best practices in the management of marine mammals and public education.
