Let’s smile

Dolphin Discovery loves to share happiness and smiles, but do you know all the benefits of smiling? Here you go, pay attention!

1. Be happier!

If we smile we feel good thanks to the communication between the facial muscles and brain, when something makes you happy there is an instruction commanded to smile so this way is how the little curve is formed in the mouth.

Surprisingly it is the same in reverse order, if your face smiles out of nowhere, a signal is sent to your brain that something is getting you happy and to be consistent, your brain  turns you in a happy mood.

This facial feedback theory comes from the father of the evolution, Charles Darwin, he said that even the simulation of an emotion could actually provoke it in our mind.

So smile for no reason and see how you feel very, very happy  🙂

2. Make happy to others …

When you smile you also make happy the people around you. There is a research where it is said that half the people who you smile at, they will return you the smile, and believe me this is not just polite.

This happens thanks to an effect named mirror neurons and reciprocity. When someone smiles you back what you’ve done is to induce a positive change in his emotional feelings, and unconsciously associate that feeling of joy with your presence.

So smile to people on the street and see how you make his day better and you’ll be happier.

3. Increases confidence in you

When you smile authentically, you will generate a sense of confidence; studies prove that when a person cooperates tends to show a genuine smile so these people are perceived with the quality of generosity. As such a smile makes us look as friendly and social people, the absence of it in the face present people as threatening or more powerful.

This can serve to people who prefer to keep a distance, but who doesn’t love being around happy people?

[box] Here a fact, there are genuine smiles, those which arise naturally and others are fake and you can distinguished it by its duration and the small wrinkles that form around the eyest goes here![/box]

4. Solve complicated problems

When you’re working on something under pressure, there is a tunnel vision effect and it prevents you to see beyond what happens in front of you. When you are evaluating something regularly you need to think more abstractly and when you get stressed  that field is shut in your brain.

When you smile you open your vision and let your imagination help you to find solutions not thought possible.

The next time you find you in a similar situation you should try to distract you with something to make you happy, if you smile you will see that answers that you haven’t thought.

5.More smiles and less medicines

We already talked about of stress and how smiling endis this monster, but one of the many benefits of a smile is all the substances that are released while you smile, like endorphins and serotonin that are painkillers that our body produces to relieve the pain in all its forms as well as lowering blood pressure.

Another study tells us that when someone smiles at us, our brain and heart stimulate as equivalent if we eat 2000 chocolate tablets or if we find $13000 USD of nowhere; it affirms that receive a sincere smile can make us feel better than eating chocolate or go shopping, in that order.

You can save a few visits to the pharmacy by simply smiling.

6.Immortality

There is research which studied the photos of baseball players in the American League by the 50’s and those who appeared smiling at the camera lived an average of seven years longer than those who were portrayed with serious gesture.

This may be coincidence but if so or if not, I think it’s better to live smiling.

So now you know, a smile can improve many aspects of your life and those around you, make smiling a habit and never leave the house without this key piece of any outfit.
